My name is Lisa Seychel. I am 61 years old and live in upstate New York. Overall, I was very physically active most of my life. In 1992 I was diagnosed with relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (MS). Except for an exacerbation every couple of years, I was able to remain very active. However, about six years ago, my MS moved to secondary-progressive. I have, slowly but surely, been losing my ability to walk.
I have physical therapy twice a week. A yoga instructor comes to my house once a week. While these activities are very helpful in allowing me to still be somewhat mobile, I was looking for something that I could do on a daily basis at home. In Dr. Terry Wahls’ book about overcoming autoimmune diseases, I read that she used electrical muscle stimulation to improve her mobility. Around the same time, I read just one line in an MS journal about Functional Electric Stimulator (FES) cycles that sounded promising. I investigated on the Internet and that’s when I found the MyoCycle. I sent an email to inquire a bit more about the cycle. The next day, a MyoCycle sales representative, Charlis, called me to discuss any questions I had.
I have been using the MyoCycle for about four months now. I love it! It has helped tremendously with the circulation in my legs. Being less mobile, my calves, ankles, and feet were almost always swollen. Now I don’t experience any of that. Plus, it feels terrific to have my legs move in a smooth and steady flow. I am very hopeful that with continued use, I will see continuous improvement with the tightness and spasticity in my legs, so I can return to walking with a strong, steady and more natural gait.
Also, the customer service is excellent! Whenever I called with a question or issue, it was addressed and resolved very quickly.
