Chezale's spinal cord injury significantly impacted her daily life. The biggest challenge was the lack of accessibility and ability to move her legs effectively. While she experienced minimal spasticity, most of her movement was restricted to her upper body, with only occasional stretching and standing for her lower half. This limited activity led to muscle atrophy, swelling, and discomfort in her feet from prolonged sitting.
Since starting with the MyoCycle Home, Chezale has completed about 12 sessions. She has experienced significant improvements, including stronger, more limber legs with increased muscle tone and less stiffness. Her family has also noticed the positive changes in her muscle tone and reduced swelling in her feet. Chezale appreciates seeing her power output, which helps her gauge her progress and tolerance levels.
Chezale feels more independent and empowered, as she can set herself up on the MyoCycle without assistance. This new routine holds her accountable and motivates her to maintain consistent exercise sessions. She also hopes that regular use of the MyoCycle will help manage her pain, allowing her to enjoy more activities with her loved ones.
Chezale expressed gratitude for the MYOLYN staff, saying, "Our experience with Team Myolyn has been nothing short of positive. Friendly, consistent, intentional, clear, concise, and responsive communication since the beginning (thank you Deb!). It feels like a tight-knit family. Liz has also done a beautiful job at checking in with us, answering our questions graciously, and guiding us in our MyoCycle journey." Chezale looks forward to continuing her progress and embracing her new lifestyle with renewed confidence and enthusiasm.
