Meet MyoCycle user Helen Whitcraft! Helen is 74 years young with 2 children and 3 grandchildren who she absolutely adores. She also enjoys spending time with her 2-year-old Chorkie (Chihuahua/Yorkie mix) who loves watching her work out on her MyoCycle.
Helen has an incomplete spinal cord injury (SCI) at T11 from a rare, yet completely life-changing spinal cord stroke. She was told that she probably wouldn't walk again. Yet, through hard work, determination, strong faith, and extensive physical therapy, Helen began to walk; first with Kai's and then AFO braces. Additionally, she's had several bone marrow and plasma stem cell treatments. Helen still requires a walker to rise from sitting to standing and walking and uses her manual wheelchair as needed.
Prior to getting her MyoCycle, Helen experienced muscle atrophy in her lower extremities, restricted range of motion, circulation issues, as well as bladder and bowel issues.
Helen's hobbies include cycling, walking, aerobic exercises, reading, movies, socializing with friends and family, and volunteering with several organizations. "I have much more energy and stamina to engage in these activities since having my MyoCycle," says Helen.
"The MYOLYN sales advocate, technical support, and clinical support have been absolutely excellent. Whenever I have a question or call, they respond immediately and walk me patiently through the situation. I am totally impressed with the MYOLYN staff and company. The most challenging part about the MyoCycle was actually putting it together. The directions encourage having 2 people put it together and that is exactly correct. Once it was assembled and I could use it, it was a breeze. MYOLYN is an asset to the spinal cord injury community," says Helen.
