A: Yes, the MyoCycle FES Cycling Therapy System is a prescription-only class II medical device. Our support team will reach out to your physician to see if the MyoCycle is right for you and obtain all the appropriate documentation.

A: In many cases, yes, the MyoCycle is covered by your insurance. MYOLYN’s specialists can take care of the entire process of applying for insurance coverage. Our reimbursement team has had success getting systems covered for users with private insurances, worker’s compensation, and Medicaid. Contact us to see if we can help you obtain coverage.

A: No! Anyone can quickly learn to use the MyoCycle. An able-bodied person can typically un-package and assemble the MyoCycle in less than an hour. If you have questions at any time during set up or use of your system, give us a call and we can help walk you through it.

A: It typically takes a few weeks after receiving your order for your MyoCycle to ship. Contact your sales rep to see what our current inventory levels are. Your system will ship via UPS ground and you will receive an email with the tracking information once your new MyoCycle ships.

A: The MyoCycle is quite compact with a footprint of 40”x24”. The system has a large roller wheel to easily transport it between rooms. The assembled system weighs about 125 lbs.

A: The MyoCycle is designed to stimulate the major muscle groups in the legs: quadriceps, hamstrings, and glutes on both the left and right leg. You can use up to six channels of stimulation at the same time but can use whatever combination of channels that will best help you achieve your goals.

A: No, the MyoCycle currently only offers lower body cycling and stimulation.

A: Functional electrical stimulation works for patients with weak or even completely paralyzed muscles as long as they have “spastic” paralysis. Individuals with “flaccid” paralysis, damage to their lumbar spinal cord, or peripheral nerve damage in their legs may not respond to functional electrical stimulation. A: The electrode pads typically last about a dozen uses or about one month. They can continue to be used as long as they stay properly adhered to your skin during use. You can purchase more electrodes by calling MYOLYN or by ordering compatible electrodes through your preferred provider.
